This World: Dan Snow heads to the Central African country to examine how a combination of slavery, colonialism, corruption and war led it to become one of the poorest nations in the world. His journey takes him to remote and dangerous places, where he discovers how the Democratic Republic of the Congo's resources and people helped make Britain rich over the centuries, and learns of the role played during both world wars.
